Lemurs are the most endangered mammal group in the world, and the beautiful and well-known Ring-tailed Lemur is unfortunately no exception to this. Habitat destruction and fragmentation are the primary threats to this species, as nearly eighty percent of Madagascar's forest cover have been cleared for pasture or destroyed by logging and slash-and-burn agriculture.
In January 2021, I decided to start a series of drawings and paintings that would help protect wildlife and their habitats, with the goal of spreading awareness about the world's animal species. 40% of any profits made through the drawings in this series will be donated to help benefit wildlife conservation efforts. This drawing is part of January's "Forest" theme.
