Not too long ago, I went on a trip to Pinnacles National Park to enjoy some hiking and birding. My main goal, however, was to photograph some Canyon Wrens and condors. The condors were no problem. But the wrens! They can be frustratingly stealthy, and although I heard many, I only got close to one of them. Despite the poor lighting and somewhat fogged-up camera lens (it was a chilly morning), I did manage to get some useable shots. This drawing is the result of those efforts, combining some of my favorite Pinnacles moments from that trip. Lovely morning colors, a great view, and the look I wish I’d had at a Canyon Wren!
